Το Κομμένο δεν ήταν στο πρόγραμμα.  Έλα που πέσαμε πάνω στην επέτειο της σφαγής.  Μπορείς να μην πας;  Δεν είναι της ώρας να μπούμε σε λεπτομέρειες.  Ίσως μόνο τούτο.  Καταγράφεται σαν την μεγαλύτερη σφαγή αμάχων κατά την Γερμανική κατοχή στην Ελλάδα.  317 ψυχές στις 16 Αυγούστου του 1943.  Από αυτές ήταν 97 νήπια και παιδιά και 117 γυναίκες.

Ο φακός προσπάθησε από μακριά να καταγράψει τον πόνο στα πρόσωπα αυτών των γυναικών τη στιγμή που σίγησαν όλα στη πλατεία του Κομμένου.  Ίσως τους οφείλω και μια συγγνώμη για την αδιακρισία μου.  Μα θαρρώ ότι είναι και μια προσπάθεια να κρατήσουμε τη μνήμη ζωντανή.  Ακόμα να σας πω για την πραγματικά πρωτότυπη ιδέα κάποιου εικαστικού της εκδήλωσης που τοποθέτησε μπροστά στο μνημείο στήλες με πάγο όπου όσο έλιωναν από τον Αυγουστιάτικο ήλιο τόσο αποκάλυπταν εικόνες με πρόσωπα.
